These are some tips for repairing Pole Position
Ok let me do my disclaimer...This is not necessarily whats wrong with your game so dont blame me if you mess things up, these are just things that fixed some common problems with my games and I urge you to read the whole thing. This is for people with some electronics skills, if you dont know how to solder and read a voltmeter then send your board for repairs.... Ok that being said here we go
Engine Sound Problem(the engine sound breaks up while accelerating)
1st-Check your power. Verify that you have the correct voltages coming into the board.
2nd-There are 2 7497 chips in the engine sound circuit, they are located at 11c and 12b. I replaced the chip at 11c and the problem was fixed. If this doesnt work try the one at 12b.
Trouble Moving
You get a screen that looks like this after moving Pole Position
Remove the wiring harness and pull out the boards. There is a board that bridges between the 2 main pcbs. Pull that board off and clean the contacts of the 2 main pcbs. The best thing to do is take a pencil eraser and erase the wear off the pins. Put everything back together, be sure to seat everything firm and it should come back to life.
